Our first post - Welcome to Be!

Thank you for checking out our blog! We're three siblings, Katie (27), Richie (25), and Anna (22) from northern Virginia who have always loved dreaming, designing, and creating unique items for the home and office out of ordinary - and often discarded - materials. Our hope with this blog is to document our adventures in the world of DIY crafts, furniture, and home accessories through words and pictures in order to inspire you to see the beauty in every-day items. Maybe you will see something on our blog that will inspire you to add a little beauty to your lives!

The name "Be" was created in order to brand our unique point of view and has a few meanings to us. First of all, our last name is Blessing, which is where the "B" comes from - we're proud of our family and where we come from, and everything we do, we do together! "Be" also instills within us a sense of calm, reminding us that despite the hustle and bustle our chaotic, busy lives, it's really the simple things that bring about the most beauty and relaxation. These things might be a beautifully refinished dresser, a discarded garden bench-turned-planter, or weathered shutters-turn-headboard. We hope that "Be" will bring to you what it brings to us, a reminder to take five minutes out of your every-day lives to breathe deeply, spread beauty through design and repurpose, and inspire others!
